"A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest.”
C.S.Lewis

Hello, my name is Robyn and I am so happy you are here! I am just an ordinary Homeschool Mom, with an Education degree, who saw a need for quality cursive workbooks that would get kids excited to practice handwriting.

If you'd like to see more of my Homeschooling journey, please check out Leading Them To The Rock, a homeschool and parenting website. You can also find me on Facebook at To The Rock. Homeschool.

What you really need to know about me is that I have never grown out of children's literature.

As an adult, I have come to love and appreciate children's literature even more deeply.

I read a lot as child, but I didn't read the entire Chronicles of Narnia until after I was a parent.  My poor kids were confused as I quietly cried tears of joy while reading of Aslan removing Eustace's dragon scales in Voyage of the Dawn Treader.  They asked what my tears were for and I replied, "This is the beauty of sanctification!"  Their seven year faces looked at me as if to say, "Umm, Mom it's just a dragon story." As they get older they are finally understanding a little of what moves me in these stories.   Children's literature has a beauty to it that is uniquely powerful in speaking to your heart and mind, no matter your age.

HOW THE LEARNING CURSIVE SERIES BEGAN

My search for cursive curriculum that would take the whining out of handwriting kept coming with ineffective options. Since my reluctant writer is a bookworm, I tried one based on a book series he liked, but sadly the moment I opened that workbook, it was obvious it had not been written by a teacher, or anyone who knew how to teach handwriting skills. I knew I could do better, and Learning with Literature was born.

My years of teaching in public, private, and homeschool have taught me that all true learning happens when there is meaning attached. My love of art and literature taught me the most meaningful places in the world are inside of book.  Books are the backbone of all learning in our home.

I used my education degree and graphic design experience to create a book that combined my child's beloved books with intentional scaffolding of handwriting skills. I started in the world my reluctant writer bookworm loves best, Narnia! And guess what, it worked! Once he began using Learning Cursive in Narnia, he began ASKING for handwriting practice each day!

Once I saw how successful these books could be, I wanted to share them with everyone!

COPYRIGHT INQUIRERS: Some have voiced concerned over if my books violate copyright.  Let me put your mind at ease, since the books are school curriculum, the author is credited, and do not detract from book sales, we are able to share the words and quotes in our workbooks due to Doctrine of Fair Use Copyright Laws  If teachers could not use quotes in curriculum they sell, there would be no teaching curriculum websites, like Teachers Pay Teachers. If you have more questions about Copyright, and Doctrine of Fair Use when it comes to teaching, please see here.

Thank you again for visiting my site. Contact me if you have any other questions. I appreciate each and every sale, and I truly hope these books help your children!
